His Obituary:

Eugene Norman Heape, 87, of 500 Lewis Lane, Carbondale, formerly of Vergennes died Tuesday February 10, 1997, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, with the Rev. Robin Lyons officiating. Burial will be in Parrish Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. tidat at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Mr. Heape had been an electrician for Caterpillar.

He was a Methodist.

He was born December 11, 1909, in Vergennes to Charles Jefferson "Jeff" and Darlie ‏(Holliday)‏ Heape.

He married Ruby Lorine Blumenstock. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law Ronald Eugene and Jene Heape of Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Homer Heape of Murphysboro and Chester Heape of Denver; two grandchildren, Robert Perry Heape of Chicago and Kimberly Lynne Heape of St. Louis; and one great-granddaughter, Lorrie Heape of Chicago.

His parents also preceded him in death.
